Title
Certain fields in the Farm Agreement include the City, Area, and Location. In particular, it is very important to use the Location properly to avoid not seeing some trips on the Dispatch Grid (when viewing farm-outs).
The City is generally used to indicate exactly where the affiliate is located. This field can be searched when looking for an affiliate.

However, many times the city is not that useful, particularly for an out of town affiliate, unless you are an expert in geography. Therefore we also have the Area field, which should be used to indicate what metropolitan area the affiliate serves. This field is a drop-down of those entries you have already made, but if your desired selection isn’t in the dropdown, simply type in what you want and it will be added to the drop-down.
When searching for an affiliate, you can search by Airport Code, State/Province, City, Area, and Company.
The Farm-Out Location in the Farm Out Agreement is NOT used for searching, but rather as a filter to allow the dispatcher to view only certain farm-out trips on his dispatch grid. While Livery Coach has a separate Farm Out grid that displays all farm-outs, some years ago we got the request to show certain farm-outs on the regular in-house dispatch grid, so that when a client calls from the airport, for example, it is easy to see his trip even if it is farmed out (which the dispatcher might not realize at the moment of the call). But, if he is calling from an out-of-town airport, the dispatcher would immediately recognize that the trip is being handled by an affiliate.
Therefore, for this field, we recommend ONLY using “In Town” and “Out of Town” (or whatever you prefer to call this division).
Then, if you want to see just your local farm-outs on your dispatch grid, select Farm-Out and In Town.

Note that the “Not Defined” is always checked by default, and that means show the Farm Out companies for which there is no entry selected in the Location Drop-down (that is, it is blank).
